The Department of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a Lectureship in Finance or Economics.

Candidate Requirements

Outstanding applicants with research interests in any areas of Finance and/or Economics are welcomed. Ability and willingness to teach in areas of Finance, including Mathematical Finance, is preferred. You will be expected to teach on the Department’s graduate and undergraduate programmes, to contribute to curriculum development, and to conduct and publish high quality research. You should hold a Ph.D. degree or be near completion.

About the Department

The Department of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics brings together research and teaching in Mathematics and Statistics, Economics and Finance within a single Department, creating significant interdisciplinary synergies. The success of the Department’s research strategy was confirmed in the 2008 RAE, where over 90% of Departmental staff were entered, and 70% of the work submitted was ranked of international excellence (3* or 4*).

The Department’s teaching is informed by the latest research and by the needs of employers from London’s dynamic financial services sector. Members of the academic staff have close links with the Treasury, the Bank of England and other financial institutions in the City.

Further Information

Salary Range: £34,307 rising to £39,274 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
This post is being offered as a three year fixed term contract.

The initial salary award will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period of up to three years.
